CERTIFICATED APPLICATION PROCESS

All certificated job applications must be submitted electronically. Completed electronic applications with all required documents and certifications must be submitted by the application deadline to be considered. Resumes are not accepted in lieu of online application. No hard copy or emailed attachments will be accepted. For positions requiring submission of a transcript, please attach an unofficial copy of your transcript to your application. (If you accept an offer of employment, you will be asked to provide an official transcript at that time.)

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS APPLICATION PROCESS

All substitute teaching job applications must be submitted electronically. Completed electronic applications with all required documents and certifications must be attached to be considered. Resumes are not accepted in lieu of online application. No hard copy or emailed attachments will be accepted. For substitute teaching positions, there is a required submission of a transcript. Positions require either a teaching credential or original transcript verifying bachelor's degree or higher.

Transcript needs to be emailed directly to the district email account from your educational institution. When using eScripts, have them emailed directly from your university. CTC cannot accept unofficial transcripts, photocopies made by the applicant, web printouts, electronic transcripts sent to the applicant, or student grade reports. While this requirement is generally met by passing the CBEST exam, There are a number of other options and a complete listing is available in the CTC correspondence at http://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets/cl667.pdf

If you are a returning SBUSD Substitute Teacher with a valid credential and certifications, you will only need to complete an internal 1 page application.

State law requires that an applicant selected for a position must complete fingerprint process to check for or verify conviction record. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify you from employment, but failure to list convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.
