Volunteers

The Santa Barbara Unified School District encourages parents/guardians and other members of the community to share their time, knowledge and abilities with students. Volunteer assistance in schools enriches the educational program, enhances supervision of students and contributes to school safety while strengthening the schools’ relationships with the community. We also encourage community members to serve as mentors providing support and motivation to students.

The completed forms, along with requirements noted on forms, will go to the contact at the school site. The volunteer packet includes a one page application and information on where to obtain tuberculosis (TB) clearance and have fingerprints taken. You will need to complete the volunteer packet in advance to allow time for tuberculosis (TB) assessment/test and fingerprint results to be sent to HR. Once HR receives fingerprint and tuberculosis (TB) clearances, your school site will be notified.
