Our goal is to ensure that students are able to leave our schools and have an opportunity to be productive and independent members of society, whether that be to enter a competitive workforce or to advance through higher education. In support of that goal, our plan is to prepare every student for both college and career.

Our electronic course catalog provides all students, parents and staff a consistent view of our course offerings and how they lead to college and career readiness for all students. The catalog illustrates different paths available to all students.

The Course Catalog is available to the public.

AERIES

Our student information system, Aeries, provides all current and incoming students with a platform to select courses for the upcoming school year. Parents can review the courses that their students select through Aeries as well.

STUDENTS

What is my username/password?
- Your username is your District-provided email address, [student ID]@my.sbunified.org (e.g., 123456@my.sbunified.org).
- There is no password for Aeries. Log into your District-provided email before accessing Aeries. Once logged into your email, proceed to Aeries, input your username, and click Next. Click on Log in with Google.
What should I do if I can’t access my District-provided email?
- You can reset your own password by using the District password portal.
I’ll be attending a different school next year than the one I’m attending this year. How do I see information related to the school I’m attending next year?
- Go to Change Student in the upper-right of the screen and pick the record that lists the school you’re attending next year.
- If you don’t see information for your next school, contact the registrar at that school.
Why can’t I choose courses for the new school year currently?
- You will be able to choose courses only during the timeframe that your school establishes. Please check with your school’s Counseling Office for more information.
Whom should I contact if I need help with Aeries?
- Send an email to support@sbunified.org from your District-provided email, or
- Call (805) 963-4338 x4357.

PARENTS

Why am I receiving an error message stating “Email is Inactive”?
- Please call (805) 963-4338 x4357 for assistance.
My email was recently added – why can’t I log in?
- Accounts are created instantly. Check with the school to make sure your contact information is entered correctly.
How do I see my second student in the portal?
- On the top right hand corner of the portal, click on the Change Student tab. Additional students will be on the drop down menu.
Why can I only see one student in my portal?
- The second student probably does not have a correct parent email address in Aeries.
- Please call (805) 963-4338 x4357 for assistance.
How do I go back to update or change information after I’ve completed registration?
- In the portal, click on Student Info, then click on Data Confirmation.
Why does the email show a Locked message in red?
- The email address cannot be changed because it is associated with a parent login (username). Please contact school to update the email.
Why did I only receive a verification code for one of my students?
- Aeries has a concept of a “primary student”, and that’s the student that appears on the email notification. You will still have access to all students that are linked to your email address. (Refer back to #4 if after logging in you only see one of your students).
What if information in my student’s Profile is incorrect?
- You should notify your school, and the school will update the information in Aeries.
Why can’t I find other documents required by my school?
- The only documents in the portal are the District’s mandatory forms. If your school has additional documents for you to review, those documents will be linked to at the end of the portal.

Your school will be providing you with a timeline and instructions for selecting courses for the upcoming school year. Please wait to receive instructions.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS FOR STUDENTS

When you select courses as part of this process, that does not necessarily guarantee that you will be able to take the courses that you select. Once all students have finished selected courses, schools count the number of students who have selected each course. If not enough students have selected a particular course, it may not be possible to fund that course, and it may therefore not be offered. If that occurs, your school may contact you to determine an alternate selection.

AERIES INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS

Note: These instructions assume you have already determined the courses you would like to take for the next school year. If you are not sure what courses you would like to take, please wait for guidance from your counselor.

As you go through this process, be sure to reference the guidance you received from school staff on the courses you should select.

Log into Aeries.
Ensure that the name of the school at the top of the screen reflects the school that you will be attending next year. If you will be attending a different school next year from the one displayed, go to Change Student in the upper-right of the screen and pick the item associated with your school for next year.
Go to Student Info > Course Requests Entry
In the Filter Courses section on the right, search either by the name or subject area of the course you want to select.
Click on the name of the course you want to select, click OK and it will appear on the left side of the screen.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have selected all of the courses you want to take next year.
Review your course selections and confirm that everything is correct. If you need to remove a course you selected, click on the red “X” button to the left of the course.

After you select your courses, your counselor will review and contact you if they have any questions.
