EARLY YEARS INFANT CENTER

The Office of Early Education and Support offers infant and toddler care for children ages 2 months to 3 years on our Santa Barbara High School Campus. The Early Years Infant Center is a licensed facility and we follow Title 5 regulations for health, safety, and quality.

The program operates from 7:30 – 4:30, Monday through Friday, is offered on the traditional school calendar, and is open to teen parents from all local high schools, staff/faculty of SBUnified, and community families living within the SBUnified boundaries. The adult to child ratios for infants is 1:3 and for toddlers is 1:6.

Families meeting the state Department of Education/Child Development Division income guidelines will qualify for the program at no or little cost. Families that do not qualify will follow our tuition rates.

HALF DAY PRESCHOOLS (SANTA BARBARA EARLY CHILDHOOD)

Our half-day preschool program is offered to families residing in the SBUnified boundaries. All our facilities are licensed through Community Care Licensing, are accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and have been rated as a 4 or 5 in the Quality Rating Information System (QRIS) through the state of California.

We offer two sessions to choose from, 8:00-11:00 AM or 12:00-3:00 PM, Monday through Friday and we follow the traditional school calendar. Preschools are offered on the following SBUnified Campuses:

 

Adams Elementary School

Cleveland Elementary School

Early Years at Santa Barbara High School

Franklin Elementary School

Harding University Partnership School

McKinley Elementary

All preschool classrooms are staffed with a qualified teacher and at least one instructional assistant. We provide a curriculum rich with developmentally appropriate instructional materials that works on school readiness skills. Children are instructed in small and large groups as well as encouraged to initiate their own learning while receiving guidance and support from nurturing staff members.
