The Santa Barbara Unified School District’s philosophy is that all students will reach their full potential through programs designed to meet their needs. The Advanced Learning Programs are designed to meet the needs of those students who demonstrate exceptional intellectual capability, and have been identified as gifted and/or greatly exceed grade level expectations. Through differentiated instruction, advanced learning students have equal access to the core curriculum and opportunities to not only meet, but to exceed grade level standards.
Each year the Tri-County GATE Council offers grants to students ($150), parents ($300), and teachers ($400) to implement projects or services that enhance learning for GATE students. Please see the attached grant applications and a description of grants that have been awarded in the past.
In addition, this year Tri-County GATE Council will offer 4 scholarships of $500 each for parents and/or educators to attend the California Association for the Gifted (CAG) Conference in San Diego.
All grant and scholarship submissions must be postmarked by December 2. 2016.
