Tri-County GATE Council Awards Luncheon

Teresa Koontz and awardeesOn Thursday, March 9, a group of SBUSD parents and educators were recognized at the annual Tri-County GATE Council We Honor Our Own awards luncheon. Honorees were recognized for making significant contributions supporting the academic and social-emotional needs of students in the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE)/Advanced Learning Program.

Awards were presented by Teresa Koontz, Elementary GATE Program Coordinator, to the following individuals:

  • Brian Naughton, Principal, Monroe Elementary School
  • Roberta Daigle, 2nd grade teacher, Santa Barbara Community Academy
  • Patrice Warwick, 3rd grade teacher, Roosevelt Elementary School
  • Kate Parker, Parent, SBUSD School Board President, and Parent-Teacher Council Member
  • Catherine Oliverio – Parent and Parent-Teacher Council Member
  • Rebecca Armstrong – Parent, Parent-Teacher Council Parliamentarian and Member
