SBHS Theatre Season 2017: MUSIC OF THE NIGHT

Santa Barbara High School Theatre’s annual Broadway Revue, MUSIC OF THE NIGHT, has been a part of student culture at Santa Barbara High School for the past sixteen years and is now returning for its seventeenth season. It was created in 1999 by students Blake Berris, Ashley Rodgers, and Evan Hughes as a way to celebrate student ownership of their theatre education. Over the years it has become a full blown stage production, with costume and light design, sophisticated videos, and a live band. It is cast, directed, choreographed and produced entirely by student directors (Hazel Brady, Sarina Wasserman, and Ben Zevallos) under the supervision of Artistic Director Otto Layman.

This year, the cast of 23 students will perform musical numbers from Broadway musicals — among them, HAMILTON, HEATHERS, GUYS AND DOLLS, NEWSIES, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL and more.

MUSIC OF THE NIGHT 2017 will be performed January 27 and 28, at 7:00 p.m. and January 28 and 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Santa Barbara High School theatre, 700 E. Anapamu Street, Santa Barbara, CA.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and $25 for reserved orchestra seating. All proceeds will benefit Santa Barbara High School Theatre’s spring musical, BULLETS OVER BROADWAY.
