Roosevelt Educators Awarded Grant for Environmental Instruction

Congratulations go out to Roosevelt Elementary School’s second-grade team Michelle Brunkhurst, Lovenneea Marchetti, and Terri O’Donnell for receiving the SBCEO Care for Our Earth grant for their innovative and effective approach to teaching young students how to minimize water waste.

Their students will get hands-on experience learning about the importance of conserving natural resources. Roosevelt School is fortunate to have teachers who strive to educate students about complex environmental issues while having the vision to prepare students to be good stewards for the environment. To help bring these topics into the classroom, their project will be supported by The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District and The Santa Barbara County Water Agency. They will be recognized at the annual Education Celebration in Santa Ynez this May.
