Brick Squad Team Advances to FIRST Lego League’s Regional Championship

Several current/former Washington Elementary School students spent their Thanksgiving holiday competing in the Los Angeles Region FIRST Lego League. According to the League’s website, the FIRST Lego League “introduces younger students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic play surface.” With team names like Circuit Breakers, WildBots, Robo-Rebels, and a Santa Barbara team called the Brick Squad, student teams (ages 9-14) create and program robots using specific LEGO products.

On December 10, the seven-member Brick Squad will head to the FIRST Lego League Regional Championship in Los Angeles. Congratulations Foster Young, Everett Young, Leland Sutter, Julian Barthel, Aiden Comrie, Marshall Pickett, and Austin Jaimes.
