This month’s Homecoming Weekend at Dos Pueblos High School is going to have special significance. Friday, October 21 will mark the 50th anniversary of the school’s founding.
From 3:30-5:30 p.m., Dos Pueblos will host visitors to campus, including returning and current staff, students, and community members. Student talent will be showcased at the Elings Center for Engineering Education, Elings Performing Arts Center, and the Elings Aquatics Center.
In the gymnasium, visitors can take a “Walk Down Memory Lane” that includes artifacts and memorabilia spanning five decades of school history.
Beginning at 6:00 p.m., there will be a pre-game show in the stadium that features a parade of former homecoming kings and queens as well as performances by the school’s cheer and song, marching band, and choir.
At 7:00 p.m., the excitement is sure to ramp up on the football field when Dos Pueblos plays Santa Barbara High.
A highlight of the 50th anniversary celebration will be the induction of 16 inaugural members to the newly-created Hall of Fame.
