There is Still Time to Register for the Latino Fatherhood Forum

Registrations are still being accepted for the Latino Fatherhood Forum to be held on Saturday, October 15, at McKinley School from 8:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

The agenda includes:

8:30-9:00  Continental Breakfast
9:00-9:45  Keynote: Dr. Ricardo Araiza, “Empowering Parents for Student Success.”
10:00-10:45  Workshop #1
11:00-11:45  Workshop #2
12:00-12:45  Lunch
1:00-1:45  Panel

Workshop choices are as follows:

  • Discipline or Guidance: Eduardo Cortes/Family Service Agency
  • Technology Safety/Social Media: Julio Carrera, Santa Barbara Unified School District
  • Educational System/Common Core: Mauricio Ortega, Santa Barbara Unified School District
  • Pathway to College/Reclassification: Dr. Jacqueline Mora, Santa Barbara Unified School District
  • Importance of Bonding/Attachment Right from the Start (0-5): Jose Moctezuma/CALM

Community agencies will have resource tables and staff will be available. Child care will be provided.
