On Saturday, September 17, 2016, United Way of Santa Barbara held its 25th Annual Day of Caring. Several of our schools were the beneficiaries of this important community effort as volunteers helped with campus clean-up, painting, and other helpful tasks.

At La Cumbre Junior High, students, parents, La Cumbre junior High staff and volunteers from Montecito Bank & Trust showed up in work clothes to help beautify the campus. They painted all the student seating area, railing, trash containers, and planters in the lunch patio.

Across town at Goleta Valley Junior High, students and parents participated in the United Way Day of Caring. Principal Mauricio Ortega reports, “In total we painted the anchor, did gardening, and painted some benches and marquee.
