Franklin Teacher’s Random Acts of Kindness Project in NEA Today Magazine

Franklin Elementary School third-grade teacher Leon Lewandowski is featured in National Education Association’s “NEA Today Magazine,” available online:

The article, “A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way: Nine ways to introduce students to random acts of kindness,” describes an annual April class exercise. “At school, the Random Acts Of Kindness (RAOK) project crosses the curriculum and offers lessons in social studies and current events, math (the students graph different RAOK types), writing, and speaking. (They give class presentations using the Haiku Deck app).” Lewandowski’s eight tips for starting an RAOK project are included in the article.
